CEO Dipankar Ganguly alongside our partners from Bartholet, had the privilege of participating in a significant event focused on the National Ropeways Development Programme ‘Parvatmala Pariyojana’. The event was graced by the presence of the Honourable Minister of Road and Transport, Shri Nitin Gadkari, who announced a remarkable initiative. Over 200 ropeway projects are set to be implemented in the next five years, with a staggering 10 billion euros earmarked for ropeway-related work over the next decade.
Organized by NHLML, a 100% subsidiary of NHAI, the Ropeway Symposium served as a platform to discuss and collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) suppliers such as Bartholet, Poma, and Leitner. The symposium also facilitated interactions with Indian companies responsible for executing the upcoming ropeway projects. Discussions revolved around improving working conditions, promoting the ‚Make in India‘ initiative, addressing hindrances, and strategizing for the successful execution of these ambitious projects. The event highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in hilly terrains, fostering tourism, and stimulating economic development through ropeway infrastructure.
